Administrative Matters

The Administrative Matters tab will allow you to control provisons and add delcarations to your document.


STEP Provisions

The first question you will see is to Toggle STEP Provisions. Selecting 'Yes' will include a clause in your document stating it has been drafted inline with these provisions. Selecting 'No' will remove this clause and you will see more options in the 'Extend Trustee Powers' section.



Extend Trustee Powers

If you have selected to include STEP Provisions, you will only see one option to extend the Power to Carry on Business - selecting this option will add the relevant clause to your document.

If you have selected to not include the STEP Provisions, you will see alot more options in this table. Selecting any of these options will add the clause to your document.


These options will only show when STEP Provisions are turned off, this is because they are included within the STEP Provisions themselves.

Convert Estate to Cash

This option will add a clause to your document directing the Trustees to convert any parts of the Residue to cash.

This table consists of common declarations you may want to include in your document. They are listed below:

  1. Discharge of Charitable Bequest
  2. Cy-près Clause
  3. Trustees only responsible if acting recklessly or in bad faith
  4. Exclude Apportionment rules
  5. Exclude consultation of Beneficiaries under s.11 of 1996 Act
  6. Statement to bring into account advances to children (Hotchpot)
  7. Include right of beneficiaries to disclaim
  8. Statement excluding S.33 Wills Act 1837. As gift arises where per stirpes is not required if this is to any beneficiary who is a child or grandchild select "Include"
  9. Statement excluding s18A Wills Act (Effect of subsequent Divorce)
  10. Statement to exclude s,31 Trustee Act 1925 shall not apply to the extent that retained income shall be only for the beneficiary
  11. Statement to allow payment of inheritance tax in respect of failed potentially exempt transfers
  12. Power to recieve gifts
  13. Statement excluding children and isse en ventre sa mere
Selecting any of these options will add the clause to your document.


Special Directions to Trustees

This options will add a freetype box/list button which will allow you add special directions for your clients Trustees. Click the Plus Icon to add further statements.
