When do documents lock?
Once you have completed the questionnaire and downloaded the final engrossment pack, a 90 day timer will begin for before the document locks.
During this 90 day period, you will still be able to make edits to the document, afterwards it will have a red padlock next to it in the client manager - and you can no longer make changes. Once locked, you will still be able to download the document.
In the client manager, you can see a padlock icon next to the client's document which will denote its lock status:
- Green Padlock - Document has not been engrossed and can be edited.
- Orange Padlock - Document has been engrossed and is within the 90 day period. Hover your mouse over this icon to see how many days you have left.
- Red Padlock - Document has been engrossed for longer than 90 days and is now locked.
If you would like to make a further edits, a new version or duplicate a red padlocked document, you can mirror to a new document.
Additionally, in the 'Download Document Pack' within the questionnaire, you will see a Document Activity table, which will show when a document was downloaded and when it was engrossed.
